SUMMERSIDE, PE – Brookdale Johnny used an early brush to the lead to secure victory in the featured pace on a rescheduled Wednesday card at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The program was rescheduled from Tuesday due to inclement weather and it was Brookdale Johnny ($2.90) who capitalized in the $5,100 feature. Paul Langille powered to the front with Brookdale Johnny before the 27.3 opening quarter to overtake early leader Doc Awesome (Driven by Corey MacPherson). The Phil Sizer trainee then tripped the remaining splits in 56.4, 1:26.4 and 1:55.3 to win by over two-lengths for the Polley Family of Amherst, N.S. Doc Awesome held second with Middleton Terror (Brodie MacPhee) third.
Sizer also won with Brookdale J Mac ($8.10) in 1:58 in race 11 in line to Brodie MacPhee.
Trainer Joe Baxter doubled up with driver Kenny Murphy in the opener with Twin Turbo Diesel ($11.90) in 2:02 and Little Leroy ($9.30) in 1:58.3 in race 9.
