CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – During a sparkling four- win evening Marc Campbell became the first P.E.I. based driver to hit $10-million in career purse earnings during the Tuesday card at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Orwell native hit the career milestone with a second-place finish aboard Skip Across in race 4 of the evening but made four trips to the winner’s circle on the career defining evening. Campbell is just the second driver to race primarily in Atlantic Canada to hit the feat, behind Dieppe, N.B., native Gilles Barrieau.

The $4,450 featured pace had Windemere Saddy ($7.10) and Marc Campbell pouncing on the leader and drawing away late to win in 1:56.3 for trainer Saul Lanigan and owners Shane Esson, Darcy Doyle, Isaac Schurman and Lanigan. Acefortyfour Dome closed well for Jason Hughes to be second, while Therealprincess (Driven by Barrieau) was right there in third after cutting the fractions.

Campbell also won with Woodmere Honeymoon ($2.40) in 1:57.3 for trainer Carson Wilkie, Sophies Cam ($4.30) in 2:00 for trainer Rick Armstrong, and Woodmere Styles ($4.50) in 2:01.1 for conditioner Jamie Smith.

Driver Corey MacPherson also celebrated a four-win evening as Redland Peaches ($7.40) delivered in 2:00.2 and from his own barn, along with stablemate Rocket Blast ($2.10) in 2:01.4. Saulsbrook Pika ($4.40) was another MacPherson driven winner in 1:58.2 for trainer Ron Matheson while Anniemosity ($8.00) was the best in 2:01 for trainer Greg Macinnis in race 3.

Fight Song ($10.60) delivered a come from behind victory in the $4,200 Open Trot for driver Jason Hughes in 1:59. Ashley Gamester trains for owner Donald MacRae.

Live racing continues Saturday afternoon at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown. For more go to Redshores.ca.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A strong Fillies & Mares event is the penultimate dash of the Tuesday evening program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Post time is set for 6 P.M., with 12-dashes on top also featuring the Open Trot and a PEISHOA Pace as part of a full midweek offering.

The spotlight shines brightest in race 11, a $4,450 Fillies & Mares pace where Acefortyfour Dome gets the rail with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Ashley Gamester. The Up The Credit mare has been sharp in recent outings but has not scored a win in recent months and draws ideally to control the race from the outset. Therealprincess is a major threat from post 2 for Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson while Shake N Blake lines up from post 3 with Ken Murphy as part of a stable entry for Jennifer Doyle that includes Lady Devine (To be driven by David Dowling) from post 4.

Windemere Saddy (Marc Campbell) round out a deep field for trainer Saul Lanigan after winning her last two races. Driver Campbell currently sits $2,468 shy of $10-million in career earnings heading into Tuesday’s program.

The Post Time Picks take Therealprincess in the win position.

“Therealprincess raced great since relocating to the Island and does have a couple of wins on her card. Draws an inside post this week and Barrieau will have her well spotted from the word go so she’s on top of the podium.”

The Open Trot takes centre stage in race 8 for a $4,200 purse. Buckhead Ridge (Marc Campbell) is the favourite from post 5 from the Landon Campbell barn for owner Brady Doyle with a three-race win steak on the line. Other top challengers include Fight Song (Hughes) from post 6, Whole Nother (Colin Sheppard) from post 2 and New Legacy (David Dowling) with rail control.

Race 1 kicks off the card with the $3,150 PEISHOA Pace for maiden pacers. Nobel Hanover starts from the rail with Brady Sweet listed to drive for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Tommy Collings after a narrow lose in his latest. JJ Leona (Corey MacPherson) was victorious that day and is back in the class from post 5 for trainer Joe Baxter.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Bee Two Bee was all business in the featured Preferred 1, cutting it with authority and pacing away in 1:54.3 for his fourth straight victory on Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Bee Two Bee ($4.00) slammed out the fractions in 28, 58.2 and 1:27.3 before winning by one-and-a-half lengths in 1:54.3 over Merigo Magic (Driven by Adam Merner) and House Edge Hanover (Gilles Barrieau). Jason Hughes had the winning drive in the $5,500 Preferred 1 Pace for trainer Ashley Gamester and owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan.

Hughes and Gamester also teamed up in race 12 to win with Laughagain Hanover ($10.00) in 1:59.

Trainer Clifford Murphy made two trips to the winner’s circle, both with son Ken Murphy in the bike, as Abc ($3.30) got it done with a confident late kick to win in 2:00.2 and All Bettor ($54.00) landed the upset to win in 1:57.2.

Corey MacPherson tripled up as a driver on the day winning with Wind Blown ($3.00) in 1:55.2 for trainer Phil Sizer, along with a pair of wins from his own barn aboard Th Spikey Mikey ($2.60) in 2:00.4 and Mr Rielly ($6.60) in 1:57.1.

Race 5 was the Steamatic PEI Restoration Professionals Pace as Buddysnvirgins ($31.70) sat third most of the way, then launched to the line in 2:00.3 for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Darrell Neill.

The day also featured a Match Race between The Grinch and Santa Claus and it was Santa who took top honours to save Christmas with a narrow score driving Heatherspet. The Grinch and Stonebeachlily were closing hard to have their plans foiled in second.

Live racing continues Tuesday evening at 6 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Preferred 1 PEISHOA Pace takes centre stage Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park and all signs point to Bee Two Bee as the one to beat.

The 14-dash card kicks off at 12:30 P.M., and will also feature a Santa Vs. The Grinch Match-Race after race 6 of the afternoon, also presented by the PEISHOA.

The $5,500 PEISHOA feature is slotted as race 13 on the program as Bee Two Bee leaves from post 4 with Jason Hughes in the bike for trainer Ashley Gamester. The eight-year-old son of Sunshine Beach has been razor sharp of late, stringing together three straight victories and winning four of his last six starts while showing versatility that makes him dangerous off any trip for owners Blair MacLauchlan and Donald MacRae.

House Edge Hanover (To be driven by Gilles Barrieau) draws the rail and is a major player from the Ron Matheson barn while stablemate TH Boomtown (Corey MacPherson) holds downs post 2. Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) lines up from post 3 for the Phil Sizer barn and Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) gets post 5 after winning his last two outings.

The Post Time Picks are firmly planted on the Gamester trained Bee Two Bee.

“Bee Two Bee has four wins in his last six starts and comes into this race riding a three-race winning streak. He has won on the front and from off the pace, so I expect him to dominate again today.”

Earlier on the card, race 5 features the Steamatic PEI Restoration Professionals Pace and Georges Credit gets top billing from post 2 with Paul Langille in the seat for owner-trainer Phil Kelly of Emyvale. Newcomer Uriel Blue Chip (David Dowling) will look for redemption after making a break as the favourite in his Island debut last week. Leavin Bruises (Ken Murphy) is another top selection from post 5 for trainer Basil Hunter.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Windemere Saddy and Whole Nother delivered powerhouse performances in the marquee events Tuesday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Windemere Saddy ($2.90) was every bit the star of the $4,650 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace in race 12, controlling the terms from the rail for driver Marc Campbell. The four-year-old daughter of Malicious carved out splits of 28.2, 58.1 and 1:28.2 before closing out her rivals in 1:57.2, fending off a late bid from pocket-sitter Shake N Blake (Driven by David Dowling) to win for trainer Saul Lanigan and owners Shane Esson, Lanigan, Darcy Doyle and Isaac Schurman. Therealprincess (Gilles Barrieau) rallied for third.

The $4,200 Open Trot in race 10 produced a sizeable upset as Whole Nother ($30.50) used a perfect two-hole trip to spring the surprise for driver Colin Sheppard and trainer Morgan Sheppard. Colin Sheppard co-owns with Darcy Duffenais as they defeated New Legacy (Dowling) and Fight Song (Jason Hughes).

Applepiemoonshine ($3.30) kicked off the evening in race 1 with a determined first-over victory in 2:02.2 for driver Paul Langille and trainer Luke Burke, with Promise Me Later ($4.60) doubling up the trainer in race 11 with a 1:59.4 win for driver Barrieau.

Marc Campbell had a driving triple while trainer Jennifer Doyle scored a pair of winners.

Live racing continues Saturday afternoon at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown. For more go to Redshores.ca.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A talented group of distaffers and a deep trotting field anchor the Tuesday evening presentation at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The 13-dash offering starts at 6 P.M., headlined by the Race 12 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace carrying a $4,650 purse.

Race 12 brings together a familiar cast of mares in a PEISHOA event including Windemere Saddy, the 5-2 morning line favourite for driver Marc Campbell and owners Shane Esson, Saul Lanigan, Darcy Doyle and Isaac Schurman. The razor-sharp daughter of Malicious is putting in a record year with over $38,000 earned along with seven victories in her four-year-old campaign. The Lanigan trainee draws post 1 in her bid to control the action.

Brokeandoutofgas (6-1) will try to turn the tables with Paul Langille in the bike from post 2 for trainer Tammy Collings.

Shake N Blake (4-1) is no stranger to big efforts at this level and gets post 3 for trainer Jennifer Doyle and driver David Dowling.

Also in the mix are Rosetown Mary (7-2), a mare who does her best work late with trainer-driver Corey MacPherson along with the ultra-hot Therealprincess (3-1) with Gilles Barrieau for trainer Ron Matheson.

The Post Time Picks go with Windemere Saddy to win.

“Windemere Saddy beat this group last week, and she did it the hard way, first-over and kept grinding right to the wire. With rail control, Marc could use her great gate speed to lead and control the tempo from start to finish.”

Race 10 is the $4,200 Open Trot with a classy crew of square-gaiters as New Legacy (Driven by Dowling) headlines the event from post 3 from the Doyle stable at 5-2 odds.

Whole Nother (4-1) has the rail for driver Colin Sheppard and trainer Morgan Sheppard while the Ashley Gamester trained Fight Song (3-1) has post 2 with Jason Hughes aboard.

Helpfull Princess (6-1) gets post 4 for trainer Trevor Hicken and driver Adam Merner with Rocket Blast (7-2) getting trainer Corey MacPherson in the bike from post 5.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Brookdale Johnny landed the knockout blow in a wild finish to the Saturday afternoon Preferred Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The $5,500 Preferred 1 pace in race 13 saw Brookdale Johnny ($48.00) rally to upend the heavily favoured Matheson brigade in 1:55.4. Driver Paul Langille positioned the Rockin In Heaven gelding mid-pack early, slid second-over through the middle fractions then angled out in the lane to nail the first-over T H Boomtown (Driven by David Dowling) with fellow Matheson trainees House Edge Hanover (Ken Murphy) and Twin B Tuffenuff (Gilles Barrieau) third and fourth, respectively. Phil Sizer trains the winning pacer for owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst, N.S.

Sizer doubled on the day winning race 5 with Brookdale George ($13.30) in a sharp gate-to-wire effort in 1:57.2 for driver David Dowling.

The Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series produced plenty of storylines through its trio of rich legs.
Buddysnvirgins ($6.20) captured the $6,000 opening MacRae division in race 2 in 2:01, using a ground-saving journey for driver Gilles Barrieau to track down tempo-setter Bold N Bad (Brett Clow) in the final strides for trainer Darrell Neill.

Five Star Dragon ($5.60) secured the first of the $7,000 MacRae splits in race 4 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Vaughan Doyle, just holding off a charging Rosiesmightymoe (Gilles Barrieau) in 1:59.1.

Dylan Sam ($10.60) delivered in the other $7,000 MacRae division in race 7, pacing home strong in 1:59.1 for driver Brady Sweet and conditioner Allan Gregory.

Doctor Grenfell ($76.10) lit up the toteboard in race 6, storming home from the back to win in 1:58.2 for driver Ken Murphy and trainer Nicholas Oakes, collared late leader Woodmere Sinatra in the final strides and keying massive exotic payouts. The Oakes Stable had another win in the opener for the double as Brigus ($5.10) set the tone early with driver Gilles Barrieau to win by four-lengths in 1:56.4.

Murphy tripled as a driver winning with All Bettor ($4.60) in 2:00.3 in race 8 and Redland Sampson ($11.00) in 2:01.4, both for his father, conditioner Clifford Murphy.

The PEISHOA dash in race 11 delivered a sharp performance from Neptune Seelster ($17.80) in 1:58 for driver Adam Merner and trainer Michael Gallant.

Another upset came in race 12 as Blue Moose ($19.40) turned back all challengers in 1:58.1 for lifetime training win 300 for veteran horseman Harold Shepherd, who also did the driving.

The finale in race 14 saw High Praise ($3.40) complete his fourth-straight victory with a 1:56 mile for trainer Jennifer Doyle and driver Dowling.

Live racing continues Tuesday evening at 6 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown. For race replays and upcoming programs, visit the player portal at Redshores.ca.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A stacked Preferred Pace takes centre stage Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, and a familiar face in the top class may be sitting on a breakout performance.

Post time for the first of 14 dashes is 12:30 P.M.

The $5,500 Preferred Pace lines up in race 13 with TH Boomtown drawing post 1 for the Ron Matheson stable and owners Dr. Don Ling and Wayne MacDougall. The four-year-old son of Captain Crunch was a winner in his latest in 1:54.4.

Fellow Matheson trainees Twin B Tuffenuff (To be driven by Gilles Barrieau) and House Edge Hanover (Ken Murphy), leave from post 2 and 4 respectively.

The Phil Sizer stable also has an entry with Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) from post 3 and Wind Blown (Corey Macpherson) with post 6.

Phil My Beer (Marc Campbell) holds down post 5 for the Landon Campbell barn after third-place finishes in both his Preferred Pace appearances.

The sharp eyes of the Post Time Picks scanned the program and noticed something intriguing in TH Boomtown’s recent work as they place him on top.

“Have a look at the chart line three down where TH Boomtown finished third but was less than a length away at the wire. It looks like he could get a perfect pocket ride from here and if that’s how it plays out, he could reach up and surprise.”

Race 11 is a deep PEISHOA event, where the eight-horse field has Nothininmoderation (Corey MacPherson) from post 1 for trainer Vaughan Doyle.

The day also has the final leg of the Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series for pacing horses and geldings in races 2, 4 and 7.

Race 2 opens the MacRae action for a $6,000 purse with Windsong Quincy (Marc Campbell) favoured from post 5 for trainer Thane Arsenault, who will look for redemption after winning the leg last week and being placed back for early interference.

Race 4 is a $7,000 MacRae series leg where Spack Jarrow (Jason Hughes) is the top selection for trainer Raymond White from post 1.

The other $7,000 MacRae leg in race 7 has Heres To Art (Ken Murphy) selected from post 1 from the Clifford Murphy barn.

Watch and wager at the track or online through HPIBet.com. For programs, live streaming, and more, visit Redshores.ca.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The delayed Wednesday night feature produced a mild upset as Windemere Saddy collared favoured Sweet Molly in the dying strides of the Race 12 Fillies & Mares Preferred 1 Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The $4,650 top-class event saw Sweet Molly (Driven by David Dowling) protect the rail and control all the fractions, rolling through splits of 28, 57.3 and 1:28. Then Windemere Saddy ($8.80) and driver Marc Campbell came calling to prevail by a neck over a late closing Therealprincess (Gilles Barrieau) in 1:58.1 with Sweet Molly third.

The winning four-year-old mare is owned by Shane Esson, Saul Lanigan, Darcy Doyle and Isaac Schurman, with Lanigan handling the training duties.

In the $6,000 Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series for pacing mares in race 2, Red Dirt Diamond ($6.00) completed a clean sweep of the series with a first-over victory in 2:03.4 for driver Brett Clow and owner-trainer Deanna Clow. Ubettimagoodone (Jaycob Sweet) and Elm Grove Nanci (Ken Murphy) completed the top trio.

The Open Trot in race 6 went to the division’s current heavyweight as Buckhead Ridge ($3.70) used a powerful move to the lead and refused to be denied. Campbell angled the Landon Campbell trainee first-over to the front past the opening quarter and put the issue to rest with a 2:00 score. New Legacy (David Dowling) was second while Fight Song (Jason Hughes) earned the show spot after cutting some of the early fractions. Driver Marc Campbell had three winners as he also won with the Landon Campbell trained Galway Girl ($3.00) in the race 13 finale.

Race 10 was staged as a PEISHOA event and saw Moon Bound ($12.70) spring a mild surprise as part of a training triple for Jennifer Doyle. Doyle also delivered with Shake N Blake ($3.40) in 1:59.4 in race 9 and Elm Grove Mistress ($3.80) with a 1:58.2 victory in race 7, all with Dowling at the reins.

Applepiemoonshine ($4.80) took a pocket ride to win race 3 in 2:01.4 during a Luke Burke training double as Elm Grove Penney ($2.90) won race 11 in 2:02, both with Paul Langille aboard.

Live racing continues Saturday afternoon at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown. For more go to Redshores.ca.
