O’Brien’s Social Bar & Kitchen
Located on the lower level of Red Shores Charlottetown, O’Brien’s Social Bar & Kitchen proudly pays homage to PEI resident and Hall of Fame horseman Joe O’Brien.
Hailing from Alberton, PEI, O’Brien was esteemed as one of the premier all-around horsemen in harness racing. Renowned for his exceptional skills as both a trainer and a driver, he secured victory in numerous prestigious races with champion horses including Scott Frost, Fresh Yankee, Armbro Flight, Steady Star, and Shadow Wave.
Today, his enduring legacy in the sport is honored through the O’Brien Awards, an annual celebration recognizing the top performers, individuals, and equine athletes in Canada.

Restaurant Policies
For regular dining hours (non-racing events), reservations can be made through our Reservation Desk by calling 902-620-4264. Walk-in tables are available during regular dining hours.
Reservations are confirmed once a Reservation Agent has been in contact and has confirmed the booking. Please be advised that voicemails do not guarantee reservations.
Although we understand that plans change, if you cannot honor a confirmed reservation, you must cancel the reservation through the Reservation Desk at least 24 hours before the start time.
If you fail to show up for your reservation, your table may be held up to 15 minutes past the reserved time before the reservation is removed and released to the public.
For private events or group bookings of 20 people or more, please contact our Sales & Events Lead at 902-367-7197.
No outside food or beverages are permitted in the restaurant (including birthday cakes).
Prices do not include applicable taxes, gratuities, or beverages.
An automatic gratuity of 15% will be added to the bill of parties with 12 or more guests.
We are not able to guarantee table requests or preferences.
When the dining room reaches maximum capacity, we may create a waiting list which will not exceed 20 names. If your name is on the waiting list, you will be contacted when a table opens up and we can provide you with a reservation.
Live Racing
Race Day Reservations are accepted on a weekly basis and open the Monday prior to each race day, excluding major live racing events (i.e. Gold Cup & Saucer, Atlantic Breeders Crown, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve).
Minimum purchase of $20 per person is required during Live Racing events. Children under 12 are exempt.
Special Events
For any special events (i.e. Gold Cup, Atlantic Breeders Crown, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve) we require a credit card to hold a reservation. The credit card will be charged a cancellation fee if you are unable to attend and the reservation is not cancelled 24 hours before the start time OR if you or a significant number of guests in your party fail to show up.
