CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A talent-rich program is on tap Thursday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, with the Fillies & Mares Preferred in Race 12 setting the stage for a potential Badgirl Bridgette threepeat.
First race post time is 6 P.M. for the 13-dash offering.
Race 12 carries a purse of $4,850 and brings together a stacked group of mares, but all eyes remain on Badgirl Bridgette, the brilliant daughter of Stonebridge Terror who has put together a 13-for-17 summary during her sophomore season in 2025. Assigned post 6, she retains regular driver Jason Hughes after wins in her last two starts for owner-trainer Bill Lanigan.
Sweet Molly draws rail control for driver Gilles Barrieau and looks poised for a bounce-back effort for trainer Luke Burke. Rosetown Mary remains razor sharp for trainer-driver Corey MacPherson, leaving from post 2 after finishing first or second in five of her last six starts.
Windemere Saddy (To be driven by Marc Campbell) gets post 3, while Lady Devine (Ken Murphy) and Brokeandoutofgas (Paul Langille) round out a dangerous seven-horse cast.
The Post Time Picks side with Badgirl Bridgette:
“Badgirl Bridgette was large and in charge last week going wire to wire and closing out in a snappy 28 seconds. She’s been assigned post six this week but been here before so expect Hughes to map out a trip and capture win number 14 on the season.”
The Open Trot lines up in Race 9 for a $4,000 purse and features the return of former Open Trot champion New Legacy from post 6 for owner-trainer Jennifer Doyle. The son of Father Patrick was racing in Ontario, winning two starts back in 2:00.1 in line to Charlottetown native Jason Ryan at The Raceway at Western Fair District. Other top entries in the Open Trot include Labero (Marc Campbell) and Rocket Blast (MacPherson).
The Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series continues in Race 4 for a $4,000 purse with a field of six pacing mares. Elm Grove Nanci leaves from post 1 with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Darrell Neill after a runner-up effort in leg one. Last week’s winner Red Dirt Diamond (Brett Clow) has post 3 for trainer Deanna Clow. Also in the field are Twin B Solitaire (Steven Murphy), JJ Kinley (Kenny Arsenault), Sweet Silvia (MacPherson) and Ubettimagoodone (Jaycob Sweet).
Earlier on the card, Race 8 is a PEISHOA event for a purse of $3,700, headlined by Woodmere Honeymoon (Marc Campbell) from the Carson Wilkie barn.
