CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A five-horse Preferred 2 pace with plenty of firepower will go postward Saturday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, with $5,000 on the line.
The 13-dash Saturday presentation has a 6 P.M., opening post time.
From the rail, Nothing Bugs Me (5-2) carries the morning line favourite’s role for trainer Vaughan Doyle, driver Corey MacPherson and owner Chris Kelly. The four-year-old son of Custard The Dragon has been ultra-consistent all summer and arrives off a win in 1:54.2 chasing down Invitational pacer Roll Em over this very oval on Sept. 20, for win number seven of the campaign.
T H Boomtown (4-1) gets away from post 2 for the duo of trainer Ron Matheson and driver Ken Murphy. The four-year-old Captain Crunch gelding has flashed plenty of power this season, including a win in 1:53.3 at Woodbine Mohawk Park in the winter. Dr. Don Ling co-owns the 12-time winner with Wayne MacDougall of Stratford.
The classy Rose Run X Con (7-2) lines up from post 3 for owner JD Racing of Cornwall with Brodie MacPhee handling the lines for trainer Nicholas Oakes. The son of McArdle has notched seven wins in his 2025 campaign including victories in his last two starts.
Post 4 starter Sports Teller (6-1) brings value to the board for trainer and driver Adam Merner. The Sportswriter gelding has been a consistent cheque-getter, landing in the top three in 11 of his 21 seasonal starts. Rebecca MacLeod owns with Gabby MacNevin, Mike Arsenault and Joey Farrell.
Rounding out the compact but competitive field is the Phil Sizer trained Wind Blown (3-1) from post 5, driven by Paul Langille for owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst. A Mach Three gelding with over $379,000 in career earnings, he’s been razor sharp since arriving back in the Maritimes, winning back-to-back Summerside Preferred tilts.
The Post Time Picks gives the edge to Nothing Bugs Me from post 1.
“Nothing Bugs Me has the rail for the third consecutive week and reached up and snatched the victory away from a dandy in Roll Em last week, so if he gets a similar trip tonight, he could go back-to-back.”
Racing fans can take in all the action live at the historic Charlottetown oval or watch the Race Day broadcast at Redshores.ca. Wagering is available online through HPIBET.com.
