CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Thursday evening racing returns to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park with a 13-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M. and headlined by pacing and trotting features.
Race 12 will showcase a field of pacing mares vying for a $4,450 purse, with Badgirl Bridgette listed as the 5-2 morning line favorite. The Bill Lanigan owned and trained three-year-old daughter of Stonebridge Terror has been ultra-consistent all summer long and will leave from post 4 for driver Jason Hughes. With her trademark closing kick, the sophomore looks to add another victory to her eight-win season.
Sugar Bowl has been a model of consistency and gets respect as the 3-1 second choice. The Sweet Lou mare has been second in her last two starts and will look to get it all from post 3 with Brady Sweet at the lines for trainer Jeff Holmes.
Another top contender is Get Answers from post 2 in line to Marc Campbell for trainer Landon Campbell, along with rail sitter Tobins Brownie (To be driven by Adam Merner) and Lady Devine (David Dowling) with post 5.
The Post Time Picks take Badgirl Bridgette to continue her special sophomore season.
“How is Badgirl Bridgette’s season going so far? She’s ten for ten in top three finishes, banked over $56,000 in purses and has visited the winner’s circle eight times. She also has won against older mares before so with that in mind we’ll call for top spot.”
The Thursday card also boasts a $4,000 trotting feature in Race 9 with Buckhead Ridge the top choice from post 6 for driver Marc Campbell, owner Brady Doyle and trainer Landon Campbell.
Fight Song, in the hands of Jason Hughes, has been sharp in recent weeks and looms a live threat from post 7. Meanwhile, Longblacklimousine has the rail with Paul Langille after winning his latest in 1:58.4.
Fans can take in the action live at the track, tune into the Race Day broadcast at Redshores.ca, or wager from home through HPIBET.com.
