CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Two feature divisions highlight Thursday evening action at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, with the mares’ preferred pace and the mid-card trot anchoring the 12-dash program starting at 6 P.M.
A compact but competitive group of pacing mares square off in the Race 11 $4,450 Fillies and Mares Feature, and all eyes will again be on Badgirl Bridgette, who steps back into action from post 3 with Jason Hughes in the bike for veteran trainer Bill Lanigan of Montague. The sensational daughter of Stonebridge Terror has 11 wins from 15 starts this season and nearly $100,000 in earnings, and she’ll look to make amends after her third-place finish in her recent start versus older company.
Sweet Molly (To be driven by Brodie MacPhee) leaves from post 4 for trainer Luke Burke after capturing last week’s event in impressive fashion. The mare has been razor sharp in her last five and looms a major threat again. Shake N Blake (Ken Murphy) lands the outside post for trainer Jennifer Doyle but has been in the thick of things against similar types and remains a danger with the right trip. My Happy Place (Gilles Barrieau) has post 1 from the Ron Matheson barn while Get Answers (Marc Campbell) is the morning line choice from post 2 for conditioner Landon Campbell.
