CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Little Louis remained unbeaten as Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park staged a deep Thursday program topped by the Brian Andrew Memorial and the Island Oceans Trot Challenge.
The $21,725 race 4 Brian Andrew Memorial colt division for two-year-old trotters had Little Louis ($2.30) blast from post 8 and never look back in 2:02.1 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Kuri White for owner East Coast Captains. It was the fifth straight win from six starts for Little Louis, who only tasted defeat in his career opener. Hoponarocket (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) secured second ahead of Call Of Honor (Joey Pineau) in third.
Hallysgurl ($2.10) was the best in the $21,725 Brian Andrew Memorial two-year-old trot filly division with a 1:59.4 win for trainer Darryl MacLean and owners Calvin Larkin and Erika Bradley. Barrieau drove the daughter of Muscle Mass as she defeated Roseys EL Girl (Ken Murphy) and Bonmati (MacPherson).
Buckhead Ridge ($3.70) continued his series sweep of Island Oceans Trot Challenge, presented by Burkie By The Bay Stables, with a 1:55.2 neck decision in leg 3 Thursday over Fight Song (Jason Hughes). The mile tied the overall track trotting record set by Buckhead Ridge in August for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Landon Campbell and owner Brady Doyle of Stratford.
Race 3 was Hilary & Caitlyn Keenan Memorial – Double J Farms pace won by Stonebeachlily ($2.80) in 1:59.3 for driver Colin Sheppard and trainer Morgan Sheppard.
The Happy Retirement Southern Heart Pace Southern Heartwas claimed by Brokeandoutofgas ($4.30) with a 1:54.4 score for driver Paul Langille to double up trainer Tammy Collings.
Marc Campbell was a three-time winner on the night to boost his Red Shores Charlottetown win total to 89 on the year. Trainers Landon Campbell and Ashley Gamester both sent out two winners.
